Let’s hear it!

My first try. Made it myself in my home studio. Certainly not perfect, but you live and learn, and at least the songs aren’t just collecting dust on my harddrive anymore… 🙂

good for you, get it out there!

You say it was done at home? Can you tell me about the software and hardware? Curious whether you did the mastering, too.

Nice work Magnus!! Not my typical genre to listen to, but good songs are good songs!

Sounds great and really professional. Not bad at all for a do-it-yourself home recording…

Love your voice, the feel, and the mix!

Not sure if this sort of thing is alright to post here? I’m definitely an amateur musician, and even more of an amateur at mixing. So bare with me. I don’t get to spend much time working on music these days, but the passion for it will always be there!
These are 2 tunes I’m currently working on. No vocals yet. Never really shared any of my music before, so figured I may as well try it on here since I’m a huge fan of Pete’s, and this seems like a welcoming community! Cheers!

My time is also limited I just squeeze in what I can, the passion is always there.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Gear Nerd! That’s definitely a positive thing haha!

This is me jamming some random Van Halen =V/-/= at home a few months back….
and the intro’s for “Hear about it later” and “Mean Streets” on my Line 6 Spider IV HD mic’d up with 2 cabs into Presonus Artist. Using my Schecter Diamond Riot 6 and Glen Burton machine gun guitar.
And here’s a song I wrote around… 2004 ? lol

Thanks Bob, Paul and Gear Nerd,
To answer Bobs questions;
I record using Logic Pro X with an UAD Apollo Twin and mainly UAD and Waves plugins. All “in the box”, no outboard gear.
Mastered myself, and that was, for me, the hardest part. Had to watch a lot of Youtube videos, read lots of articles and talk to friends who know more than me… But it was fun to learn, and the next project can only be better.

Great sound. Fat and punchy. Looking forward to hear with vocals.
Enjoyed your song from 2004. Don’t know why you wrote “lol”, maybe it’s not your regular style of music, but I really liked it. Catchy.

Cause iv’e probably written over 500 songs in my lifetime so i’m always guessing what year I wrote something… if I could ever focus on just a few songs I might get somewhere… but i’m usually working on several things at once including covers.
Sometimes I go through my books and see songs I wrote down with lyrics etc and I can’t even remember how they go. lol
So if you don’t at least scratch something down on a demo tape…. it might get lost.

Thought I’d share a metal tune I wrote a few years ago. It was before I knew anything about mixing, so please bare with me, the recording is pretty rough 😛

My band is called Down and Outlaws. We have been playing together for about 5 years now. Our first LP we did was recorded at Studio 606 (which was a wild experience), and since then we have only released one other track, which was recorded in Vancouver as a part of the Converse Rubber Tracks series. We have been writing non stop for the past 2 years or so, and we are about to release a 2 song EP, followed by another LP a ways down the road.
Here is the song from the Rubber Tracks session:
Here is the album we did at 606:
And here is a ridiculously low budget music video we did about a bear having the worst day of his life:
Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks for listening.
