Hi, I never did do the switch and now my new board is too small for a bigger pedal like the Bogner, but it IS a great Marshall-type pedal! Hard to go wrong with it. A pedal will never be the real thing as the plexi thing is a combo of a loud amp, 4-12″ cab with great greenbacks, etc, it’s just like, one big instrument. But it’s a great recreation of the basic vibe of that tone!

I’m a UA fan, also Apogee. Can’t go wrong with either. They are solid and sound great!

Hi Jim, some cool ideas there, I am developing a clinic that is basically “how I record”, a production clinic.. in conjunction with Suhr.. coming soon!

Depends on the band you’re in and on the sound guy “getting it” for sure. Stereo is a lot more fun if you use in ears!

Ya, there’s always going to be something great about real amps/speakers moving air.

Hi, ya I really think you have it covered, man! With a PT and a AC you have Fender, Vox, Marshall! Get a Suhr reactive load, some good IR’s, maybe couple mics if you want to mic cabs… and maybe a few overdrives, fuzzes, for variety. I could work the rest of my life with those 2 amps.

They don’t let anything go out the door that’s not great, so Arron- I’m sure it’ll be killer! ๐Ÿ™‚

I really like the combo of Helix and Kemper I’ve been using. The Kemper does the tones convincingly but it’s somewhat perplexing from a ergonomic/ease of use standpoint. But it does sound great.

Glad you dug it! I wish we’d initially dialed in the tone a bit more, for her, in retrospect… but she was great, as always.

I think you’ve got a great cross section of pedals there, in mind, already. Those are top picks for the tone you’re looking for.

really many newer amps derive much of their tone from the preamp. Anything that you play down low via a master vol- you aren’t really getting a ton of the tone from the power amp, in that scenario, even though it matters still. Speakers are a huge part of the tone also- this can’t be overstated. They are like a big filter on your whole sound.
